Default fields/sets by Group Type

@slaffik, you mentioned earlier that your plans could change whether to integrate group types.

Would you please consider changing your plans so as to enable site admins to define default fields and/or field sets based on group type?

I’m specifically in need of something that could mimic the BP member type profile field functionality so that groups of certain types could be governed by the same defaults.

At present, the only ways I can think to hack around this are to

• limit the “Allowed Groups” to a specific group type by checking/unchecking all of the groups of a type manually (which means that I can’t set different sets of default fields for different group types, only the one type that is “allowed,” essentially forcing me to have only one group type with any extras whatsoever)

OR

• create the same fields manually for each group since I want fields to be specific to certain types (which defeats the purpose of having the ability to set defaults in the first place, since default fields currently appear for all groups regardless of type)

Neither of these is an ideal solution.

Thanks for creating a plugin that could even approach this sort of functionality.
