Default Front-Page

Hi!
My name is Sofia and I am new in WordPress. I would some help about something. There are templates that their front page is by default the home page and you can see the “edit page” option in your dashboard. They are actual pages that you can edit them. But there are some other themes that their front page seems to not be an actual page. There is nowhere a page and there is no the “edit page” option in the dashboard. Now I made a new page named Home and set it as the front page but it is a simple page without the settings of the Front page that the theme provides. Is there any way to make this Theme Front Page an actual page? I read somewhere that this happens because it doesn’t have an index.php file but I didn’t exactly understand.
