Default Post Format is not working

Hi

The homepage of my blog site (http://mckinleyconsultinggroup.com/blog/) is not showing up in the Gallery format even though I have done these two things:

1. Under Settings > Writing, Default Post Format = Gallery

2. When I add new posts I select “Gallery” in the right hand side panel.
I add new post by either by writing a post inside WP in edit mode, saving it as “save draft” and then publishing it when I am done OR by copying and pasting a post which I have written in Word doc.

Write now on the home page of the blog the entire blog post appears.

What am I missing? Can you please help?
