There isn’t a way to do it without using some php or javascript code. Off the top of my head I think the filter you can use to do that is called: wpas_description_field_args. The entire form itself is rendered via a file called submission.php under the awesome-support/themes folder.

Your question prompted us to add the option to set defaults for subject and description fields to our “powerpack” add-on. This way there is no coding involved for anyone that has it. Here is the link for the Powerpack page.
Obviously you can still use the filters mentioned above to achieve what you want but if you decide to forego the coding and purchase this add-on we can get you a beta with the subject/description field defaults in it.
