delete 3000 spam

I attempted to “empty spam” and the site disappaered. It said it was caught in a loop of some sort and then asked me to reinstall wordpress. Instead I just installed a backup. I still need to delete the spam (and yes, reactivate my akismet!)

How do i delete so many spam comments in the ‘feedback’ without crashing the site?
