  • I could be wrong but there is an option that you can remove the credit link. At any rate if there is no option then you have two options.

    – The plugin license allows you to edit the files any way you like other than claiming it as your own.

    – Use another plugin

    I can’t remove the credit link, I didn’t see that option πŸ™

Can you tell me other plugin? The WhatsApp button is important for me…

Thank you for your reply πŸ™‚

I would not suggest another plugin. Maybe it would be best for the author to recommend something. If you decide to edit the plugin files to remove the credit, then it will return next time you update the plugin.

thank you… Maybe I will search other alternative.

That’s Twitter’s post-Tweet “Who To Follow” suggestion page, not a credit link.

If you’d like to have specific accounts listed on that post-Tweet page, just customize your Twitter message and AddToAny will have Twitter suggest accounts that are mentioned in your Twitter message:

    https://www.addtoany.com/buttons/customize/wordpress/twitter_message

I’ve customized the twitter message with two twitter account names. But the addtoany code seems to take only the last/second one and then append the ‘addtoany’ twitter username. Is that expected behavior? If so, how can that be changed in order to setup multiple twitter accounts to follow (not including the addtoany account)? Is there another way to configure the twitter ‘related/data-related’ property for recommended accounts?

    Thanks!

@dspilka – please start your own thread – this one is resolved.

    Go here to do so:

    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/add-to-any

micropat you are a liar and you know it! I’ve added the extra Javascript code for the “VIA” a long time ago. As recommended by you from here: https://www.addtoany.com/buttons/customize/twitter_message

Yet, everytime I click on the Twitter button, the URL is infested with &related=AddToAny&via=MyTwitterPage

There is simply no way to remove the related=AddToAny from our side because it is added by you people from AddToAny in an invasive and selfish way to have your account recommended to people.

I think I will make my own plugin someday and release it for free. It will also be 100% clean!

WPyogi, I was wondering, why should dspilka start his own thread?? He is on topic and NOTHING is resolved! micropat FALSELY marked it as “resolved”. There is NOTHING resolved about it! Do you see any fixes anywhere?? I don’t…

After further research I found that AddToAny forcefully adds a “Twitter Related Web Intent” with the sole purpose of gaining more popularity on Twitter on users behalf. That’s why all traffic is routed through their site to begin with… Yet when I look at micropat’s response to this, claiming that this is imaginary, it makes me sick!

Please note, as this is being added in by their service and is done outside the plugin itself, it is currently permitted in the ww.wp.xz.cn repository.

Plugins are not permitted to brand like that. Services which handle the processing, legitimately, on their own servers are not restricted from doing so. There is a good reason for AddToAny to pass Twitter via it’s servers, and it’s the same reason Jetpack does it. This is permitted at this time.

The issue is resolved. It’s something they don’t permit you to change as it’s coded into their system. They’re under no obligation to change it. If this is something you do not like, you’re welcome to leave a review about it and use other plugins.

@ipstenu I added modlook for justatest47’s ad hominem, etc. Also, an important correction to your note:

This actually is totally customizable, as answered above and in other topics:
    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/recommends-you-follow?replies=3#post-5105111
    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/twitter-share-recommends-addtoany-addtoany?replies=16#post-7535700
    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/how-to-configure-the-twitter-recommended-accounts?replies=2#post-6537658

If the customization isn’t working on your site, the site probably has a JavaScript issue, and you’re welcome to point to your site in a new support topic so folks can help.

    And I deleted Modlook.

They’re allowed to not like your product and complain about not being able to use it properly. You’re allowed to leave your branding if it’s on your service.

Congratulations, you have users who are finding issues with your product. That’s not an ad hominem attack, that’s a ux issue.

    (@micropat)

@ipstenu You missed the actual ad hominem by justatest47: “you are a liar and you know it!” right after “micropat claims that we are all stupid” in another thread. Both attacks are totally unfounded and within 5 posts of misinformation in less than an hour from this user.

micropat you see? now you try to silence me πŸ™‚ You added a modlock? Good thing Ipstenu did not allow you. That’s exactly why I call you a liar! You keep on insisting with the Twitter Message code from here: https://www.addtoany.com/buttons/customize/wordpress/twitter_message

Can’t you understand or better said, why don’t you want to understand that the Twitter related web intent has nothing to do with the Twitter Message code!!?!?!?!?

I already told you numerous times that I’ve already added this code:

    a2a_config.templates = {
        twitter: "Reading: ${title} ${link} by @AddToAny"
    };

But adding this code has nothing to do with the “Twitter related web intent”! How many more times do I have to tell you that? Your plugin externally adds a &related=AddToAny to all Twitter URLs. Its because of this, the Who To Follow page (post-tweet) always gets AddToAny as a suggestion.

Tell us how to remove the RELATED web intent or at least warn us about it in your description and stop claiming that adding the above code makes the related thing go away. I think you perfectly know what I’m talking about, you just don’t want to acknowledge.

    (@clorith)

Let’s try to keep it civil, please, there’s no need to throw around accusations, neither one way or the other.

@micropat Your users are obviously misunderstanding your documentation, you could take this as an excellent opportunity to interact with them and find out what is confusing them and make it better for everyone!

@justatest47 Although I understand that it may be frustrating, one always gets further by not accusing developers of ill intent like so (and trying to rub it in that a moderator stepped in earlier makes one seem a bit negative).

Now that’s out of the way, the problem the users seem to be trying to address is that the share URL includes the &related=AddToAny string, they’d like to remove this part of the share URL, or customize it to be something more relevant to them. Sounds like a valid request since it’s a bit misleading that all content no matter what is related to AddToAny
