• I had version 3.1.7.2 installed and working on my WordPress installation, but I deleted the si-contact-form folder from the server by mistake.

The only back-up I have is of version 3.1.6 (this was installed previously, I have the complete si-contact-form folder from the server on my PC at home).

Can I simply upload the backup I have into the plugins folder and activate it? Will this get all my forms back? I have tried it but none of the settings keep 🙁

  • The settings are not stored in the folder, they are saved in the WP options database . But if you click delete plugin from WP plugin admin page then the settings are also deleted, it warns you are about to delete all files and settings.

If you only deleted the folder by FTP then just install the plugin again from the WP plugins add new plugin button, your forms will still be there.

I recommend you backup your forms using the backup tool on the form edit page

Thanks Mike – I have only deleted the folder itself. I did then actually click “uninstall plugin” from the plugins menu as well before I tried to drag and drop the backup folder back on to the FTP.

Would this have removed the forms from the WP options database?

I do have an entire back-up of the site from a few days ago. Is there any way I can access the form settings in that back up so I can add them back to WP and get them working again?
