Hi there! You have to be logged in as the forum administrator, and then you can delete comments and threads. Just hover over the post and a grey ‘x’ should appear at the top; when you click that, the comment should be deleted. Let me know if that isn’t working!

Only administrators are given the power to delete posts, as permanence is one of our core values at Muut, to preserve the flow and integrity of a given conversation. We’ve got a bit in our manifesto about that specifically; feel free to check out the whole document, which explains what we’re about and why we do what we do. 🙂

Let me know if you have any other questions, and happy Muuting!

    Paul,

That doesn’t see to work. I’m brand new to wordpress and must, so I’m not sure about how to do everything, but I am administrator of the site, and do all the posting and set up. I wrote 2 test comments on a couple of posts and it worked, but now I want to delete those. The site is http://www.sacredbandofthebes.com which is currently being developed. I’m logged in to wordpress, where I make all the changes, do I have to be logged in anywhere else?

Appreciate your help. I assume that it’s really easy to do, and I’m just not figuring it out.

    Thanks

Hmm, can you link me to a page with the Muut commenting enabled so I can take a peek? If you’re not using SSO, you will also need to log in to the Muut account (by clicking the Login link at the top of the forum/commenting embed), if you ARE using Single Sign-On, such that it is tied to your WP accounts, being logged in as the site’s administrator should give you admin rights on the Forum. Anyway, yes, a link would be great, and let me know if you’re using the Single Sign-On feature.

We’ll get it figured out for you! 🙂

Here is one of the pages: http://www.sacredbandofthebes.com/making-of/the-making-of-a-graphic-novel/

I don’t think I use SSO, is there a reason I should or shouldn’t. Like I said, new at this and I greatly appreciate your assistance. I know that I have the administrative rights because I’m the one who makes all the changes, adds the plugins like Mutt and basically does everything (had someone create the original WP site and graphics, but he’s never used Muut so doesn’t know)

Is there a way we can exchange emails or something so that I don’t make everyone else have to read about my lack of ability?

Got it. So, Muut is a service separate from WordPress—but we have a WordPress plugin to make integrating it with WordPress easy. So, by default, it is a different account; the forum administrator account is a Muut account, and your WordPress site has a separate administrator account for the website.

When you first install the Muut plugin, the admin page prompts you to visit http://muut.com to create your new community. Did you do that? Or did someone else do that for you? The community is also accessible at http://muut.com/thebes (I can tell what it is from the embed). There should be an administrator account, if you log in there or at your website. See this screenshot for what that login process looks like. If someone else started the muut.com/thebes community for you, you’ll need them to give you the administrator account information or create a Muut.com account (it looks like you created one to make those test comments) and have the creator add you as an administrator. Once you have administrative access to that community, you’ll be able to, well, be its administrator. 🙂 If you did do all the setup yourself, do you remember the account you used to create the forum at Muut.com? That’s the one you should use.

If you’d prefer to resume over e-mail, you can absolutely contact me at paul [at] muut [dot] com. I don’t mind having it public, as others might fall into the same confusion you are, so it is beneficial for them, but I have no problem doing it over e-mail if you’d prefer! Either way. 🙂

The full documentation for the Muut WordPress plugin is also available at our website here, that has a good setup guide and such.

Keep me posted, sorry it seems like we keep crossing our wires in communication! Look forward to hearing back from you.

Ah, that’s it. I wasn’t logged in correctly. Once Iogged out and logged back in as the administrator, I saw the X and was able to take care of it.

Thank you very much. Will be sending you a private email too.
