i also changed the default username field text to mobile no.
so that the user can register with their mobile no.
when i used the inspect element feature of google chrome browser
it shows the error on the field
display name publicly as
this field is in my form but it says it is visible on the edit profile
page only
then why it is showing the error

Thank you for reaching out to us.
Are you using the latest version of Profile Builder and WordPress? Did you tried to deactivate all other plugins and use a default WordPress theme? Maybe there is a theme/plugin conflict.
From your explanation I understand that inside Profile Builder -> Manage Fields you have the “Default – Display name publicly as” field and this field is triggering the error when trying to Register.
Can you send me the URL of your Registration form to take a look at it?

i simply deleted the display name publicly as field
and the error was gone.
am i doing it right?

If you don’t need that field inside the Edit Profile form then it is ok if you deleted it.
