    Hi Robert–

Piklist has disabled it’s deactivation link to protect your website. Either your theme or a plugin is dependent on Piklist. Please change your theme or deactivate the dependent plugin(s) to allow deactivation.

If you disabled Piklist and your theme depended on it, it can cause big issues.

    Hope that helps.

I still can’t see how to remove Piklist, which I no longer need. It’s the only plugin that I’ve encountered that has no remove option. That’s bad practice.

@ dcolquho– It has a remove option, however, because it’s a framework removing it at the wrong time can take down your site. That’s why it’s been disabled… it’s actually protecting your site.

When disabled it means that either another plugin you are running needs Piklist or your theme is dependent on Piklist.

Guessing it’s probably one of your plugin. Disable them one by one. When you find the right one Piklist will allow itself to be disabled.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks very much. I installed it quite recently because I was told that it was necessary for the functioning of the Winnower plugin
    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/the-winnower-publisher/installation/

However I don’t need Winnower now (since I discovered their site won’t show Latex equations). I’ve uninstalled Winnower and I hope now to remove Piklist too, for the sake of tidiness and in case it interacts with other plugins). If the uninstall takes be back to where I was, as it should) no harm will be done.

Thanks very much for your help.

    David
