Description in URL

I have seen in other blogs how each post is IDed by the name. So instead of index.php?p=123 it has a name of the post in it. I see the input field called “Post Slug” that looks like it could be used for that. Is there a setting I can change to make it use the Post Slug in the links instead of the “p=123”?
