Have now done this but still no change. Perhaps I should hav been more specific. The descriptive text is visible but it is the thumbnazil of he front page that now no longer shows. Any suggestions greatfully received

can you head to the mDocs dashboard and click on a file that is giving you trouble. From the drop down menu click the “Refresh Preview and Thumbnail” link then try again and see what happens.
can you upload a new test file and see if the thumbnail works.

what version of php are you using?
if you go back to an older version of mdocs does the same thing happen?
Using WP Rollback, I installed Memphis 3.9.17 (as Thumbnails stopped working for me in 3.9.17). Thumbnails now work again : o)
