Is it a grouped calendar? If so then it could be that one of the grouped calendars templates has the description. Grouped calendars will use the individual template and not the one on the group calendar edit screen.

So if I want to use the individual calendars in two grouped calendars (one grid, one list), I have to either use the same template for both views or double create the individual calendars with two different templates?
I’ll just remove the sidebar widget for now. It doesn’t look good with the entire event descriptions.

At this point yes that is correct. We are discussing if we have better options or ideas for this.
