Descriptions/captions

I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I’m trying to understand the options that come with the paid version of this plugin before I get it, but I can’t really find a proper descriptions of its functionality in regards to captions. And I can’t find any option for this in the free version.

Can anyone tell me or give a short description of how the slider handles image descriptions/captions? Does all text have to be added in a layer? Is it possible to show the image description or caption below or to the side of the image? I really need to figure our which plugin has the easiest options in regards to captions. I need to show objects with a bit of history (museum web site), without any overlay, and to be mobile friendly.
