Design and Content Missing after uploading

First of all, this is my first encounter with WordPress, so I’m a newby.
I decided to download WP to my local machine and design a site using Dreamweaver. Everything is now done. I created a new design, and added some pages and posts.

So, today I uploaded the site, but when I view it online, it is as bare as it can be, and no content is there. The content consists of what you see when you start a new wordpress site. The heading is completely gone, no background…. nothing but “hello world” and the sidebar.

Wonder what I did wrong?
I’ve checked the files and everything appears on the server just as it appears on my machine.

Any clues?
