• I’m gonna be honest, I’m really frustrated with wordpress. I’ve just wasted an hour and a half. Then I came to this page and it wasn’t letting me reset my password with my account so I had to create a whole new one. Then it was like pulling teeth to find a forum. So sorry if this is the wrong forum

I have wordpress and a separate host company. When i preview themes it doesn’t show anything. I installed the “hueman” theme and then it said it had the “nimble builder” where I could easily drag and drop stuff. It says it’s great and easy to use. It’s terrible! I can’t can’t delete sections, or create sections. I don’t want headers and footers blocks, I don’t want widgets. I’ve done stuff like this before. And I don’t want the thing where you scroll through the page and you see stuff overlaying images and moving over the images. I just want a regular website. I want an image across the screen, with menus to different pages. I want everything to be kept still, not moving along when you scroll. Does all this make sense?

Can anyone help me with this? I feel like I”m on a wild goose chase. I’m sorry if my post is, for lack of a better word, intense. But like I said, I’m just really frustrated. I go to a help page and there’s a million things that aren’t relevant.
If someone can please help me, that would be amazing. Thank you.

  • Trying to parse your rant for a question is difficult, kind of like you describe our help section. 😉

The only thing that sounds like a question to me is the themes showing nothing. Well, if you have no content, there is nothing for the theme to show. If you view the themes on the Theme Previewer here at ww.wp.xz.cn, it will show the content that is loaded on the preview site, and there isn’t much there. If you preview themes in the Customizer of your own site, it uses the content on your own site. Theme authors often put images in their screenshots to make it look better, but they don’t have to supply that image in the theme. The theme just outputs whatever content you have and styles it; that’s it.
Plugins, like whatever “nimble builder” thing you got into can do whatever they want. But you don’t need any plugins to make a WordPress website. You can install some, to enhance the basics, but they are not required.

I realize my post was long but I have reason to be frustrated. The software isn’t user friendly, it was like pulling teeth to find a forum and I’ve had bad experience in forums in the past. The people were supposed to help and they were rude and condescending. It seems like theme previews shouldn’t be designed this way, or they should mention why there’s no content. I mean… that’s pretty useless. But in any case, I did get some help with someone. But as far as wordpress goes, I’ll put it this way: the user names Ihatewordpress and Ireallyhatewordpress were BOTH taken. That says a lot. But I thank you for the information you provided. ‘Cause yeah, that’s good to know. Be well. 🙂
