    Hello,

I created some patterns but when I tried to detach them from their elements the option “Detach Pattern” was not available.

I tried making different kinds of patterns and changing themes but without success.

    Here goes the screenshot:

Any idea why this is happening?

(I’m a newbie to Gutenberg and using a free hosting site to practice on WordPress 6.4.3)

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Kat,

I tested this on my test site and the detach pattern works fine. I am on WordPress 6.4.3 version as well.

From your screenshot, it looks like you have not selected the parent block (the main pattern) to detach it.

To detach the pattern, click on the option that says “Select parent block (Container)” in your screenshot and then click on the three dots again to detach the pattern. Alternatively, you can also click on the List View and then click on the main pattern to detach them.

Here is a screenshot from my test site for your reference:

    Hey, Vinny,

Thank you so much for looking into this!

I tried doing the same thing on another hosting and it works perfectly. So it must be some kind of bug on the hosting platform that I am using. It is free, and I am using it to refresh my knowledge of WordPress so I can’t complain.

I’ll mark this issue as “resolved”.

    Thank you again.
