Did FeedWordPress Miss Something Important?

    I’ve tried FeedWordPress on one of my domains and while it does what it says it will smoothly, it renders my blog unusable because of what seems to be weird handling of posts by FWP. It appears that FWP doesn’t take the content of the feed and publish it as a regular post which causes whole lot of issues:

    NO PINGS
    Pinging services are not notified after new post was fetched and published

    NO XML SITEMAP REBUILD
    Sitemaps are not rebuilt and search engines not notified after new post was fetched and published.

    FWP seems to be publishing the posts from feeds in some weird way which makes it rather unusable. Is there a way to go around it?
