Hey rox369,
Sorry for the late reply. Can you clear all the cache for the destination site including server level and CDN cache? We have seen sometimes due to the cache result, the latest version of the destination site did not reflect instantly.
You can re-run the migration and check once. If you are still seeing any issues do share the destination site URL to check further.

Kousik
I also used the migration key method and did receive a suggest message. Then I changed the nameservers to the new hosting company. The site did NOT migrate as it is showing the default home page for a fresh WordPress installation instead of the actual website.
I looked in the Files Manager and do not see all my WP-Content files and plugins. I haven’t looked in the database to see if it did actually copied the data over (yet).
How can I re-run the migration AFTER I changed the name servers? What’s your recommended action?
Thanks
USADB Webmaster
Update to my previous message about re-doing the migration “after” the change in nameservers. I couldn’t wait long enough so I went ahead and did it manually.
- copy the WP-CONTENT folder over
- drop existing tables, import the SQL file
- update the config.php file
- redirected the domain to the correct path
Thanks.
Hey,
When migrating the site to a new server while keeping the same URL, we recommend using the manual migration method instead of migration keys. Using migration keys will trigger the migration to the existing site since the DNS will not yet be updated to point to the new server.
While using the manual migration method you can specify the new server IP pointing our systems to the new server skipping the existing DNS settings.
The problem here are vague suggestions and recommendations. The migration to a new site is fraught with difficulties. How to access it given the fact it will have a new URL or domain name. This needs a careful and tight list of necessary steps. Explicitly stating that the new site needs a WP installation. With what database? How is that new database updated with the migrated set?
