    I made an account just to review this after seeing all the good reviews. This plugin did not help at all. It seemed it only downloaded images and when I opened it I would only see missing images. When I logged out of my wp site and just pressed ctrl+s it downloaded the site perfectly! … not sure why I even needed a plugin now.

    thanks for taking the time to create a review!

    I’m sorry you had problems making Simply Static work for your use case.
    I want to add a bit of explanation here as it seems that you haven’t understood the intended use case of Simply Static.

    If you have one URL, saving it with CTRL + S is perfectly fine, but you are just saving that one URL.

    Simply Static is used to automatically generate a static website from your entire website, not just one page, and it does much more.

    Saving a website with CTRL+S also only works for a simple website that does not use any relative paths, dynamic image formats, and minification – so it’s more luck than a reliable approach.

    It also completes misses the deployment part, so it’s only a viable solution for archiving reasons, and there are quite a lot of better tools for that, like https://www.httrack.com/
