difference in TinyMCE editor on two websites with same setup
-
Hi All,
Newbie to wordpress here.
I hope I have chosen the correct area for posting, but I am unsure if this is really a tinymce thing, or a Pages section in wordpress thing.I am trying to replicate a site that I have access to, onto another site I am test developing to become familiar with wordpress.
The originating site has tinyMCE advanced as the editor, and so does my new site. Both sites run a personalised theme.
On the original site, the tinyMCE editor seems to show better/advanced options that what I am getting on the second site and I can not fathom why. The area that is different is making the front page banner different also (missing on my test site).
On my originating page it shows the Title, the permalink, the TinyMCE editor for the main content, then a banner section which looks like its in a mini tinyMCE editor (exactly the same as this one I am currently posting in), then Main Banner Image, then a list of Other Banner Images.
On my problem page it shows the Title, the permalink, the TinyMCE editor for the main content, then we hit a difference. I then get a Custom class area, then a banner section, but this banner section has no advanced editor, just a plain old text entry editor.
After this, we are the same as the originating page, where we have Main Banner Image, then a list of Other Banner Images. So my issue/differences seems to be that when using the Pages/Edit of the Homepage, on one site (the working site), I do not has a Custom class area, but have an advanced editor, and on the second problem site, I have a Custom class area, but only a simple text editor for the Banner Section.
I can not see any difference in the WP platform (both 4.9.8 and matching plugins).
I can not see any difference in the tinyMCE plugins folder (in fact I copied from one site to the other the entire wp-admin, wp-content, and wp-include folders over). What am I missing config wise that changes the way Pages/Edit shows what editor each part can be edited with?
sorry if that was long winded – screen shots would probably show it better, but don’t see any attachment option.
