Different category templates

Hi,

I’m debating to find a solution that allows me to show different categories under different blog layouts.
I already know that I can make a category-slug.php (slug = name of the category) and modify that file if needed. The problem is not that. The problem is how can I associate a sidebar to that file. I’ve created a sidebar with the name of the category but in the widgets section I don’t see how can I associate that sidebar to that page since it seems that all categories use the blog sidebar.
Any help would be greatly apreciated.
