I need to have different sets of users who can edit different sets of pages.

    I *think* this means:

    • I need to create custom roles, and assign users to these roles.

    • Then on each page, I need to set which roles can edit this page.

Can I do that with Advanced Access Manager? Is there an easier way to do that?

Yes, you can manage each pages and assign which role has access to them with AAM. And your steps are pretty much correct.

Our AAM Plus Package allows you to manage access for each role for each Term (category) bur for now it works with Post as Posts only has categories and not Pages.

@lunagraphica correction on my last reply:

For Bulk Page management you can use our AAM Plus Package because it allow you to group Pages in Categories (not just Post as WP default). –> https://aamplugin.com/help#page-categories

And with the Categories set you can then Manage each Category (also with AAM Plus) to assign Roles or Group of Users who can manage that certain group of Pages. This will make things easier for you. –> https://aamplugin.com/extension/plus-package
