Difficulty with [pdb_record]

There is something I am fundamentally missing as my every attempt to use this results in “No Record Found”. All my database is readily viewed with [pdb_list]. Is the problem with [pdb_record] because my data was imported rather than entered through “Signup” and there is no “Private ID”?
