Direct Stripe Plugin not working

    Hi there,

    unfortunately, the direct stripe plugin has stopped working on our site….

    It used to work – so if someone would like to join, after entering their details and pressing Submit, the Stripe overlay would show. However, now the area where the overlay is expected just fades – looking like it is expecting an overlay over the top.

    We added the button originally by clicking the button to add the plugin, which generates the [direct-stripe value=….] code in the content.

    To try and investigate the issue we have:
    – disabled and re-enabled the plugin.
    – switched to try to connect to the test interface, and back to Live (by setting API keys).
    – confirmed we are on the latest version of the plugin (v 3.0.1)
    – the website has got an SSL certificate.
    – there is nothing on the browser saying any pop-ups have been blocked.

    Any help to resolve would be greatly appreciated 🙂

    We also tried using Chrome and Safari, and it gets the same issue so its not a browser issue… any other suggestions? any help would be great 🙂

    Thank you for using Direct Stripe.

    I could see at https://www.railinnovationgroup.com/become-a-member/ that the Stripe button is hidden via CSS code in the child theme’s stylesheet and the js is not properly loading.

    Could you test the Direct Stripe button on a page with all other plugins deactivated and switching to the default twentynineteen theme? That could help identify a possible interference.

    Thank you for identifying that the button is hidden behind CSS code in the child themes style sheet.

    Apologies, I am not very technical, and have tried to get it working again, and have the following further information:

    – the button used to work as is… however, it stopped working.
    – I’ve also tried using the button on the page https://www.railinnovationgroup.com/start-up-rail/ but I get the same issue there.
    – Apologies, but I really don’t know how to follow your suggestion: “Could you test the Direct Stripe button on a page with all other plugins deactivated and switching to the default twentynineteen theme? ” please can you advise, how I would know if all other plugins are deactivated? Also what do you mean by switching to the default twentynineteen theme? is this a button preference?

    Apologies, we are not very technical, we just set up the website and as long as it works 🙂

    Hello @philf321 ,

    Did you change anything on the website for the button to stop working? ( changed theme or plugin )

    Could you run tests with other plugins deactivated and switching to the default theme? That would help you find possible conflicts.
