• Step 4 says to upload the files to my server. Step 5 says “Run the installation file. Relative to where you uploaded the files, it’ll be in wp-admin/install.php.”
I don’t understand the reference to a wp-admin directory. Do I need to create that directory and put install.php there? In other forum posts, I’m seeing references to a directory structure that didn’t exist on the zip file I downloaded and that doesn’t exist on my server following the upload. There are no folders, just files. So when I point my browser to http://ems.org/word_press/install.php, it tells me wp-config.php is missing. But it isn’t missing — it’s right there in word_press. Presumably install.php can’t find it because it’s not in the right place on the file tree — it needs to be in a subdirectory.
So how do I set up the directory structure within my word_press directory?
