Hi there,
In the upper right hand side of your new post and page editor you’ll see a Screen Options toggle — select that. Then check the box for Discussion options.
Now you’ll find the Discussion options under the content editor — and you can turn comments on and off right there!

At the bottom of each page on my site there is a “Leave a Reply” with a comment box. For the life of me I can’t find out how to get rid of that! Thanks for your help.
