Disable Copy Function

I have read some of the support topics and have an idea of what I need to do. Here is an example of my issue:

The plugin cannot copy and rename the single-flip_pong.txt file to single-flip_pong.php. I have tried changing permissions to the folders in wordpress but it did not fix the issue.

I have copied and renamed the file myself into my theme folder but it is still not working. I believe you have said in another thread that the copy function needs to be disabled but would also disable support and updates. How do I disable the copy/rename function? Where do I go?
