You can simply set it to not be included in your sitemap:

Excellent, that has worked a treat. I am not sure the purpose of this sitemap, won’t the library pretty much always cause duplicate content that Google won’t like since the templates in the library are very likely to be pages or posts?
Is there some use case for it that I am overlooking?

In the Yoast SEO > Titles & Metas > you can set this post type as a “no index” then Google will not think it’s a duplicate content:

No, there is no need to do that. Template Library pages blocked to users who are not connected to the dashboard. So Google or other visitors cannot enter at all.
