Is there any way to disable the Open Graph tags that AIO Events Calendar generates?
They are causing major problems and I would really like to be able to use the ones from AIO SEO instead.

One issue relates to Facebook using an image from the Events Widget (there really needs to be a simpler ‘flat’ version of that widget without all of the bloat).

Another issue are the line breaks that are not stripped by the plugin for the og description. This is also causing major headaches.

  • Hi @glitterball3,

Since you are embedding the calendar via a shortcode onto your page, the open graph tags you refer to are from some other plugin or theme, not from Timely, and are specific to the Page or Post in your WordPress platform.

If you check the source code of your page, before the open graph tags there is usually a comment line or a meta tag that shows the generator of the open graph tags, so you can find out which plugin is generating the tags in question, and disable them.

I am talking about the actual event page.
I still see the og tags even with AIO SEO disabled.

I don’t want to disable Total Cache, as that can be problematic to disable/re-enable and I doubt if it is adding the OG tags.

Are you sure that AIO Events Calendar does not add og tags to the actual event detail post?

    Hi @glitterball3,

Can you provide me the URL of your calendar so I can take a look?

I have checked a few other websites that use the All in One Events Calendar, and I can see that they also have the same issues. Those sites also ONLY have OG tags on the Events detail pages (and no other pages or posts), so I find it highly unlikely that those OG tags are being generated by any plugin other than AIO Events Calendar.

    Hi @glitterball3,

My apologies. The plugin generates specific OG tags for Facebook and Twitter in order to accomodate the Shave and Share functionality of the events. This cannot be disabled as it is hard coded into the events pages.

If you wish you can submit a feature request to have the option to disable Save and Share, or Open Graph meta tags on our Ideas page, here:
