• Hi Team,

Thank you for the awesome plugin. I’ve been using WP-Optimize for several years, but only recently started using the cache features. Previously, I relied on WP Super Cache since my theme supported it, but I’ve now switched fully to WP-Optimize.

My site has around 25,000 URLs, but not all of them receive traffic. For this reason, I’d like to completely disable sitemap-based preloading. I want WP-Optimize to cache a page only when it is requested by a visitor, and not preload it in advance.

I’ve already disabled the scheduled preload option, and the “Automatically preload content after it is purged” checkbox is also turned off. However, I still see pages being preloaded, seemingly via the sitemap.

Could you please let me know how I can fully disable sitemap preloading?

    Thanks for your help,

    Pradeep K A

    Hi Pradeep!
Glad to see that you’ve found WPO quite helpful.
You are on the right track to disabling automatic page cache. In addition to unchecking the Automatically preload content after it is purged and the Activate scheduled cache preloading options, make sure to purge all cache to reset the system.

Once done, the page cache will start building up only on site/page visits.

Let us know if you still experience otherwise.

    Kind regards.

Hi Damilare, thank you so much for the reply. I’m still facing the issue with the site. However, on a newly built site, I don’t see this problem.
It seems the issue only affects older sites that had WP-Optimize installed previously.

    Hi!
Try installing WP Crontrol, then navigate to Tools > Cron events.
Next, search for wpo_ and delete any _schedule_preload hook found from the list of hooks.

Purge cache and check to see if pages are still being preloaded.

Let us know if that helps.

    Regards.
