Disable RSS feed call

    My WP dashboard performs a call to https://theeventscalendar.com/feed/. For some reason, that call is blocked by my server (resulting in a 15-second delay in the page load). Is there a way to disable this call via the plugin admin interface? I haven’t seen anything. I’m working the problem from the server side but it would be nice to be able to not wait if it was a simple config change via admin page.

    Thank you for reaching out.

    That call is coming from the “News from The Events Calendar” widget (see https://go.screenpal.com/watch/cTiveRnIvvH). Kindly try deactivating the widget from your Screen Options.

    thank you. That checkbox is currently disabled but the feed is accessed anyway. I’m guessing that you always retrieve the feed and use the Screen Options to toggle the widget on/off (display). I’m currently blocking the feeds with a custom plugin so the page load is fast again. This is an issue with my web server but was looking to see if that could be turned off via the admin interface. thanks for checking.
