• If there’s a feature for this, I can’t find it. I’m using 1.5b

Is there a button to turn off the whole site, and disable it temporarily? That would be very useful, if it’s not in there already

  • site ? blog ? Not the same…

And one button ? No, but depending on the above you could rename a few files to get the same effect.

    May I ask why ?

As Podz mentioned above, you could just replace index.php with quickly written “Under Construction” one.

By “site” of course, I mean the WordPress installation. This feature is on other blogs and CMSs – it’s useful for many reasons. Doign major developments, moving the site, doing maintenance — you name it. Would be great to have a button so that you can do it remotely without ftp access, etc.

Yeah, I’d like to have this feature too. I was thinking about writing a plugin for it…but I’ve never written a plugin for WP, so who knows how that would go. 😛
