    Just a quick question:

How do I disable the SMTP plugin warning.

We have not detected a plugin installed that will handle your emails via SMTP. Please note, if you enable our plugin for a user you must make sure that your WordPress website sends emails correctly, otherwise the user will be locked out until email sending works on your website.”

My site uses the server’s mailer to send email and this persistent warning does not go away.

    Morning @macdonalddesign,

For me, the box pops up and has a close button (which is classed as a dismissable notification). When I click this close button, the box is completely dismissed, even after a page refresh.

If this doesn’t work for you, would you happen to know if you have an Object Cache plugin installed?

When this notification is dismissed, it adds a row into wp_options table with option_name = SS88_2FAVE_notice_dismissed_smtp with an option_value of 1

    Thanks,
    Sully

This is a very simple website. It does not have an Object Cache plugin installed.

The site’s wordpress is up to date and your plugin is up to date. It only has 5 plugins, total.

Clicking the dismiss ‘x’ made the message go away for 1 screen refresh only, and it did not add the option to the wp_options table.

I added the option manually using phpMyAdmin and the warning went away.

    Hi @macdonalddesign,

I believe there will be something on your WordPress installation preventing this.

I just installed a fresh WordPress copy, installed the plugin, and successfully dismissed the notification. It didn’t reappear after a page refresh.

At this time I’m unable to replicate this issue.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Thanks,
    Sully
