Disappearing Widgets

    According to my dashboard, there are three basic widgets (tags, recetns posts, and categories) that are designated “used” but that do not appear anywhere on our site. They remain unavailable, and it’s not clear why.

    I see that this has been a recurrent question, but I haven’t found an answer that’s applicable to 2.7. One long thread dates from 2007, and this thread [http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/193442?replies=5], marked “resolved” is not resolved at all; the question never got answered.

    Could someone please address this? Many thanks!

    Hi,

    Please check with the default theme for your blog widgets..if it appears then there must be a problem with the theme..otherwise disable all plugins and have a check..after that enable plugin one by one so that you can diagnose that which plugin is affecting the blog..

    I am also experiencing a problem with the sidebar widgets ‘disappearing’ (I have three enabled, but only 1 shows up). I have tried upgrading WordPress (to 2.8.2), trying the default theme, disabling/deleting plugins but nothing seems to work. I’d love some assistance with this one!

    This is almost always a theme issue.

    lilycarver: change your post to resolved.
