Disconnect from WordPress.com?
-
I’m playing around with this plugin and wanted to disconnect my WP.com account from Connect. I’ve poked around quite a bit in the interface, looked on WP.com, and deleted the plugin, all to no avail. Is there any way to do this?

Hi Mark!
Thanks for giving the plugin a try.
Deactivating and/or deleting the plugin should remove the Connect functionality from your store. There isn’t really a connection to remove specifically for Connect, since it uses the site’s Jetpack connection to WordPress.com.
What are you experiencing after deleting the plugin?
Hi Jeff,
Quick reply! Awesome!
When I first installed the plugin, I had to click a purple “Connect” button. Jetpack was already installed and (I think) connected, so this “Connect” seemed like a second connection to WP.com that I assumed I could manage separately. (This was on a staging site and Jetpack was connected on the live site. It was connected when I went back and checked.) Since this site is for a client, I realized that I needed their WP.com account to be connected to manage payments methods.
After deactivating, deleting, reinstalling, and activating that purple Connect button wasn’t back and it appeared I was still connected. I think what I’m asking to do is this: https://cloudup.com/cEftqbrnIlE. Based on your response though, I’m thinking that might not be a thing!
So a question: Will someone else be able to access my WP.com payment methods when they log in or is that connection specific to my WordPress user account on that site?
Hope that’s clearer 🙂
Mark,
Your testing has highlighted a need for us to clean up some plugin options data when it gets deleted – thanks!

Ah, I understand now – the purple “connect” button is really more of a Terms of Service acceptance button. Without connecting/accepting, the Connect for WooCommerce plugin won’t be able to use your Jetpack’s connection to WordPress.com.
The reason that you weren’t prompted to reconnect after reinstalling and activating the plugin is what I hinted to above – we aren’t clearing out the option that stores your acceptance of the terms when you delete the plugin.

The payment method selection form is only displayed to the Jetpack “Master User” (the one who is connected to WordPress.com), or to anyone if your Jetpack is in Development Mode.
If you haven’t put your Jetpack into Development Mode where other users have access, only you will be able to manage payment methods for Connect.
For now, if you’re looking to clear out settings created by Connect, you can remove the rows in your
wp_optionstable that begin withwc_connect_. We’ll work on automatically cleaning that up upon plugin deletion.I hope this helps, and thanks again for reaching out!

Sounds good. Thanks for the details.
