    Hello,

    I was wondering, is there a way to apply some kind of discount if the field “How did you hear about us” is filled?

    If so, can you give me some tips on how to do this?

    I’m trying to maybe implement this in the order form itself or as a pop up, and if the client uses it, then it gives him/her like a $5 discount.

    Thank you for your question.
    We’re always open to suggestions and might implement them if we think they’re useful.

    So, if I get it right you want to have the functionality that automatically gives a discount when the field is filled in. Won’t you get biased results then? Because everyone will fill in a random source to get the coupon, no?

    Or do you mean giving a coupon depending on the source? Then again, what prevents people to tick the source with the best discount?

    Yes, you understood me right. And so I don’t get biased results, I was thinking to somehow make it like the normal discount page, where you enter a coupon.

    Basically have an option like that which opens a new page with “How did you hear about us” or just a pop-up.

    And no, not depending on the source. Every option will have the same discount. That’s why I think it will be better to have it as a separate page (like the normal coupon) or as a pop-up, so it’s not directly in the form it self and probably not many people will notice it, that way it doesn’t get abused as much.

    Hi Mjoy,

    What do you mean with the normal discount page? The cart? You can insert a coupon on the cart and checkout in a standard WooCommerce installation.

    And would you show to the visitors that they get a discount when entering their source? (Ie “Show how you found about us and get a discount!”)

    Hello,

    By the normal discount page, I do mean the cart, yes. When in the cart and you click to enter your coupon, an option shows up to enter it.

    I kinda want to do the “how did you hear about us” in the same way. Sorry, I really suck at explaining, lol.

    So yes, I do like to show the visitors that they get a discount when entering their source.

    I just have no idea how to do this field and link it with a discount.

    Hi Mjoy,

    We’ve discussed it internally and it’s not something we will implement at this time. It’s too far away from the original scope of the plugin (a small, clean lean plugin to enable the customer to add a source location at checkout).

    Sorry to disappoint you, but the feature would require us to code for a few extra hours for this single particular feature. I hope you understand.
    If we get enough similar requests we might still implement it. I’ll set this topic as resolved, but people can still bump it to show their interest for this feature.
