discount/affiliate code confusion about “customer amount” and “initial payment”

    I’m using v1.9.5.6. When I create a discount code, it asks for an initial payment and a customer amount.

    What’s the customer amount for? The sentence which describes it is confusing “This is the amount the customer will recieve from a signup to this level”

    Then once a user signs up to some membership level, they get an affiliate code to share with others. First, that affiliate code is another discount code which gets created int he database, and has initial payment set to the actual membership full price, and a customer amount set to 25.00 in my case.

    First, where does that 25.00 come from? I didn’t set it anywhere.

    Secondly, if someone else uses their code at sign-up, they don’t receive any discount. They are charged the full price (because the code has initial payment set to the full price).

    Secondly, how are others supposed to benefit from the affiliate codes? Currently nobody gets any discount from them …

    What am I missing?

    Thank you for using Paid Memberships Pro.

    Which plugin are you using for your affiliates? I tried to create a discount code but I don’t see the “Customer amount” option.

    Affiliates are used so that you may give incentives to your customers for referring other customers. You would need to manually pay them, depending on which affiliate plugin. Here is a guide for reference – https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/managing-affiliates-with-paid-memberships-pro/

    As I said, I’m using v1.9.5.6. If you use v2.x then you may have a different interface (v2.x doesn’t work with WP 4.5 so I can’t use it)

    This is what I see in the PMPro discount code panel when adding/editing a discount code:

    Which plugin are you using to handle your affiliates as Paid Memberships Pro does not offer affiliates in the core version and requires another plugin/integration to achieve this.

    The wording for the “Customer amount” will be assigned to the person that shared the code and once it’s redeemed by their friend/colleague they will get that amount added to their affiliate statistics.
