Discount Rules Disappeard from Plugin

    Hello, and thank you for maintaining this plugin.

    I installed your plugin a few months ago and used it to apply discounts on certain categories. It looks like there is a major update on your code.

    I checked yesterday and noticed that the discount rule I had created does not appear on your plugin. However the discounts are still applied on the products.

    Additionally, I deactivated the plugin, and still the discounts remain. This is a problem now, because I am not sure how to switch the prices back.

    I was thinking of applying a new rule on top of the missing one, but after this incident I don’t really feel comfortable doing that.

    I would appreciate it, if you had a workaround to allow me to take control of the discounts again. At least, to make the old rule re-appear or remove all discounts and activate normal prices again.

    Another idea (I am not sure if it’s going to work) is to provide me with the “legacy” version of the plugin. Could this bring back the rule and allow me to switch back the original prices?

    In any other case, I am gonna have to change all prices manually, because it’s too complicated to trying use an .xml file. The listing has a great variety (images, variable products, mixed prices etc).

    I checked for any scheduled tasks (cron jobs) on the hosting panel, and I didn’t find anyone active.

    Sorry to know that you are facing issue with our plugin. I will try my best to assist you here.

    We have tried to re-produce the problem in our latest version but we could not. This issue was observed in release of 5.1/5.2, we have fixed the same in updated versions. Currently, you can try re-installing the previous version and then delete the wpcd_migration_complete key from options table. After this, you can update the plugin to latest version and it will create all the discount rules you have created in previous version.

    Hello, and thank you for the prompt response.

    I located a backup of the site that included version 4.16. I replaced the current version (for the record, it was 5.11), and it brought back the user interface I was familiar with. I even tested turning on and off the discounts on a couple of categories, and it worked too.

    Now, I’m not sure how to proceed. I am thinking of keeping the current version for as long as I am going to use this plugin. Is there a safety issue if I stick to 4.16 for a while?

    I realize you are doing a great effort to establish you’re brand, and if you need my opinion, you’re in a the right path. I visited your website, and it is very well designed and structured!

    Regarding the plugin, if you can propose a safe way to update without needing to touch the database a lot or applying complicated (for a novice user) code, I will be glad to go this way.

    I am also open to any other ideas, but since the site is running live, I am kind of modest on applying changes that might require additional workarounds.

    @vagherbie I am glad that you were able to get the plugin working for yourself. If you are having busy time with sales, and are used to the old UI, then you can use it for some time. When its not busy time, then you can turn off all discounts and then update to newer version.

    Once you do that, you should be able to create rules and remove them normally. It should apply/remove discounts as well.

    Thank you for sharing kind words about our brand. Yes, indeed we are revamping our plugin and soon going to launch lightweight addons, as compared to other plugins available in the market most of which are bloated with features and eventually affect performance.
