  • My theme is Hive and unfortunately because it is a premium theme I’m unable to reach the php theme files to modify the code.

    I don’t follow this… how does the theme being “PREMIUM” prevent you from accessing the PHP files to make code modifications?

    Or are you saying the files are all obfuscated?

    In any case, premium or not, you shouldn’t be editing theme files directly, as you’ll lose all your modifications upon updating the theme. Instead, you should use a child theme.

    And this is something that you need to take up with your theme’s vendor.

    @gappiah Agree, I was using a child theme, but I can’t get to the file location in the parent theme using cyberduck to bring down the function I need and modify it in the child theme. According to WordPress support it’s due to my theme being a premium theme when I acquired it back in 2017. It’s being suggested that I now get a license directly from the developer. Trying to avoid that.
