Display columns based on user input

I’m not sure if there’s an option for this. I’m hoping to use this for a running log: the columns would include Distance & Time. In my google spreadsheet, I have two columns for distance, one in miles and the other in kilometers. I’d like to have buttons for the readers to choose which units they’d like to see, and the correct column for distance will be displayed accordingly. Please let me know if this is at all an option… Many thanks!
