There is a future date marked as sept 1, 2014.
The entry displays fine in the back-end as ‘to be published’ but I can’t find an option to simply auto-publish everything in the feed…

Are you by any chance using Feed to Post? I tested the feed and the items imported just fine.
Can I ask pretty much this same question? I have a list of upcoming events in rss format and I want to display that list, but the publish dates are all in the future, so they show up as pending in your plugin. How can I get it to also display pending items?
