Thanks for giving Local Like And Share a try. I am sorry to hear that you’re running into problems, though. Currently, the plugin’s functionality is restricted only to posts of the “core” post type. The issue could be caused by your use of a custom post type post, the use of a shortcode to render it, or its inclusion on a page. It would be difficult to troubleshoot the root of the problem without some additional experimentation. Unfortunately, I do not presently have the bandwidth to attempt to debug your exact situation.
However, I will tell you that over the course of the plugin’s (relatively short) lifespan I have received more than one request to add shortcode functionality so I am open to considering it as it seems like a fair number of people could benefit from the flexibility of adding like and/or share in a more ad-hoc fashion than the plugin allows presently. If you’d like to see this (or anything else, for that matter [support for inclusion on pages, perhaps?]) implemented, please open a new support thread with “Feature Request: ” in the subject line. This way we can gauge the level of interest, from the community, in adding particular functionality to Local Like And Share.
In the meantime, I hope you can find a way to get the functionality you need, whether it is via my plugin on another one (there are lots of quality plugins out there in the directory!).
