Display posts as images?

I want to add a page to my site http://www.gisconsultancy.com/blog that will display all my posts as a little jpeg image in a grid of similar images, ie one image for each post. I want get the image to represent a post, from the img tag in the post itself. Does anyone have any ideas if this is possible? If there are any plugins that do this? If it can be done by querying the wordpress database? Or failing all the above if there are any cool ways to display archived posts on a single page?
