A link to the pages you’re talking about would help us to understand the problem.
Also I’m not sure I understand you. Your main page is displaying posts (or summaries of posts depending on how you’ve configured your blog). I’m not sure what you mean by a ‘parent page’ in this context.
Pages can have parents, but not posts as I understand it.
So the big question is do you want to list your most recent posts on your home page, or do you want to change that so as to list pages and if so, do you want to list your most recent posts somewhere else?
