With the help of the Template Hierarchy article, determine what Template is displaying your posts (could be index.php). Then edit that Template and add the the_excerpt(). You may need to delete template tag, the_content().

That 2nd example is using template tag, the_excerpt(), and then a link to the full article with something like this code:
