Do categories get created on import?

    Hi!

    I have a CSV with 1200 Entries in deep-leveled, nested subcategories.

    Do the categories get created on import or do I have to create them by hand?
    If they get created, is there a way to create the subcats also?

    Hi Alex,

    When you import listings, you have the options of creating the Categories at the same time. The documentation covers that here: http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/docs/#admin-import

    What you don’t get by doing that is the parent/child relationships in the categories. You have to go in AFTER import and then associate the categories that are children UNDER the parent ones.

    In general, we don’t recommend highly deep taxonomies. Users HATE navigating them and they’re visually tough to read and process. We support them, but users definitely find the experience very poor, just FYI.
