Do I need to copy/paste any code?

Hello,
So I just installed this plugin, activated it and added my GA ID on the settings page… what now? Do I need to add any code to my pages or is it all done automatically? I’ve no idea about coding, it’s all gobbledegook to me!
Also, do I have to wait long before data starts being tracked? I have tried SO many plugins and I cannot believe my GA stats still read zero all the way across the board! I have had visitors to my site during the past 24 hrs I’m sure!Amy
