Yes, in latest versions of the gallery we implemented new cache module which gonna help you to save alto of resources and speed up page which contain gallery shortcode.
When you enable cache every gallery generate cache after first page load and use this cache in future page loads.
If you wish you regenerate this cache for some particular gallery you can just open gallery edit settings and click publish button. When you publish gallery and in the case if some settings was changed after save of new settings gallery generate new cache.
In the case if you wish to completely re-generate cache of all gallery.
