Document shortcode shows bandwidth error

when i use the document shortcode to embed a pdf on a page, i find that sometimes i get an error about bandwidth limits being reached for viewing or downloading files not in google docs format. i have found this error to occur in various browsers and refreshing the screen a few times sometimes clears it up. any tips on how to avoid this error?
